Coursefisher ("we", "us", "our") operates the Coursefisher online learning platform, including our website, admin/instructor dashboard, and mobile app (together, the "Service"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have — including how to delete your account.

Information we collect

Account information — name, email address, phone number, profile photo, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text) when you register or sign in, including via Google.
Payment information — course purchases are processed by our payment partner, eSewa. We store the resulting transaction record (amount, status, reference id) but never your card, wallet, or banking credentials, which eSewa handles directly.
Learning data — the courses you enrol in, your lesson progress, quiz results, certificates, reviews, and any content you post in course Q&A or forums.
Instructor documents — identity and qualification documents uploaded during instructor onboarding, stored securely in private object storage and visible only to platform staff.
Device and usage information — basic technical data such as IP address, device/browser type, and app version, used for security and diagnosing problems.

How we use your information

To create and maintain your account and provide the Service.
To process payments, enrolments, and issue certificates.
To send you transactional emails — verification, password resets, enrolment confirmations, and course announcements.
To respond to support requests and enforce our policies.
To keep the Service secure and prevent fraud or abuse.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

eSewa — to process course payments.
Object storage (RustFS) — to host images, videos, and documents you or your instructor upload.
Resend — to deliver transactional emails.
Google — if you choose to sign in with Google.
Law enforcement or regulators, only when legally required.

Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Financial records (transactions and enrolments) are retained even after a deletion request where required for accounting purposes, but with your personal details removed — see "Deleting your account" below.

Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your account and personal data at any time from the Delete my account page. If your account has no course purchases or enrolments, it is deleted outright. If it does, we immediately deactivate the account and remove your personal details (name, email, photo, phone number), while keeping anonymised transaction records only where needed for accounting and tax purposes.

Children's privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your rights

You may access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time by signing in to your account or contacting us below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
